Off The Eaten Track recently had the pleasure of meeting Melissa Cartwright, owner and beekeeper of a local company called Mellifera Bees. Melissa makes amazing unprocessed honey from local hives located throughout the city and the lower mainland. You may have seen her awesome infused honey sold at local farmers markets and local boutique shops.
Melissa will be launching a very interesting and informative tour of her hives located at Le March St. George. The 2 hour tour is a fun and safe way to learn all about how bees make and store honey! You will be treated to an afternoon of touring through the inside of a bee hive, learning about bee behaviour, and of course tasting fresh honey straight from the hive!
Day: Sunday August 25th & Sunday September 15th
Address: 4393 St. George (corner of St. George & 28th)
Time: 2pm (tour is roughly 2 hours long)
Cost: $45 (includes hive tour and honey tasting)
