Our summer seasonal tour is here! Come with us on September 14th to explore the amazing Vancouver urban gardens and the restaurants that utilize these gardens around the neighbourhoods of Gastown & Chinatown.
Curious about urban gardening? Passionate about local food? Vancouver has an abundance of both and this tour is a delicious opportunity to explore the growing urban gardening movement while sipping and tasting culinary treats from local restaurants. Let us take you behind the scenes at two of the most interesting urban farms as well as three culinary stops where we celebrate our amazing local culinary bounty.
The tour starts at a hidden farm on the top of a parking garage with amazing views of the city. Owned by a company called Local Garden, we get a private tour of their incredible vertical urban farm and try some of their fresh micro-greens. Then we head to the Juice Truck food cart in Gastown for a sample of their delicious smoothies made from locally sourced fruits and vegetables. We then head to Bestie, a trendy sausage & beer parlour in the heart of Chinatown. Here we will try a sample of their German inspired street food using local ingredients. The next stop is at Harvest Union for a sample of mind-blowing boutique ice cream from a local company Earnest Ice Cream. We finish the tour with a honey tasting and a private tour of an urban apiary with Mellifera Bees.
